Cheers, good to know. I just looked and they got to the quarters in mens. Not bad. But you have to have those grassroots rinks to really do anything.

Semi professional league. Most talents play in Sweden or germany. Zuccarello is doing well in NHL, but there is far between Norwegian over there. There are only a handful of indoor arenas in Norway, as Sweden has got at least one in every town.

They do have a small professional league and a handful of Norwegians have made the NHL over the years but not sure they have ever got a medal.

Team sport, as in ice hockey? Yeah, Norway has always been amateurs in hockey.

The lack of Russian athletes and the US tanking it help but you have to hand it to them, they are punching well above their population weight.
Bit like Iceland in football.

Hardly a surprise that a country who has hard core snow for about 5 months of the year and is one of the wealthiest on the planet is doing well.
If you're in the centre of Oslo with your skis, you can be on the slope in about 30 mins as it's basically above you.
Guessing their athletes don't have to gofundme to get the wedge needed to succeed!
Enjoyed it though, been decent so far.

Norway are doing historically well, that said they usually slow down near the end when all the team sports medals are given.

Not watching this year so no idea of the specifics but
Short track has always been bit of lottery. I remember the Australian getting the gold one of the first Olympics (I want to say the first) the sport was in. He won because he was so far behind that he missed a crash that took out everybody else.
That said even with that wild card, Apollo Ohno, one of the guys that fell in that race has 8 medals in the sport. So the best eventual get rewarded over time. If Christie is good it will come.
